Biography

Aisa Warden is an Iñupiaq Eskimo interdisciplinary artist, and a tribal member of the Native Village of Kaktovik.  Her poem, "we acknowledge ourselves" was featured in the Land Acknowledgements issue of Poetry Magazine in the July/August issue in 2022.  She was recently a featured poet at the 2024 Arctic-Nordic Small Languages Writers Festival in Nuuk, Greenland. Warden recently debuted a performance art piece "dissolution" as part of the Ripples: Making Waves in Inuit Art Symposium, held in Montreal also in 2024.  In addition, in 2024 she was a MacDowell Fellow in Interdisciplinary Arts and a Literature Fellow at Djerassi as part of their Winter Residency program. Warden is the recipient of numerous fellowships including: a 2022 Art Matters Artist2Artist Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Arts, a 2022 Rasmuson Individual Artist Fellowship in Music Composition and a 2019 United States Artist Fellowship in Traditional Arts. She is currently living in Texas.
